Posting pictures of huge piles of cash isn’t the smartest move for a man currently claiming bankruptcy, but 50 Cent has gone ahead and done it anyway.
The rapper is being hauled back to court to explain the Instagram photos, seemingly that show he isn’t quite as “broke” as he makes out…
50 claimed he was bankrupt after he was ordered to payLastonia Leviston $7 million in a sex tape case. Leviston, spotting the photos, brought them to the attention of JudgeAnn Nevins, who has since expressed concern that the rapper’s claim might not be entirely legit.
50 Cent’s lawyers, however, are claiming that the photos are irrelevant to his claim, as his social media is used to promote his brand, and aren’t necessarily a true reflection of his wealth:
“By including pictures from [Mr. Jacksons] social media accounts and implying that [he] is hiding assetsthe [three creditors] intentionally ignore that [Mr. Jackson] is in the entertainment and promotion business and must maintain his brand and image (or those of the products he is promoting).”
In any case, he’s going to have some explaining to do…
