Gov. John Kasich ‘takes pro-Obamacare rhetoric a step further,’ clarifies!/JohnEkdahl/status/524352719075958785

The last time we saw the word “welp” used in conjunction with Ohio Gov. John Kasich — (precisely, “Welp, so much for that guy”) — was in an article about a group in anti-Common Core T-shirts who were allegedly denied entry into a Kasich campaign event. So we’re not too excited to find out what this latest vote of no confidence from the Right is about.

So what did the AP have to say about Kasich and Obamacare that demanded clarification from the governor?

Ohio Gov. John Kasich says he doesn’t think there will be a repeal in Washington, even if Republicans win a Senate majority and consolidate their hold on the House in next month’s election.

“That’s not gonna happen,” the Republican governor told The Associated Press during a recent re-election campaign swing.

Kasich called The Associated Press Monday night to clarify that he was speaking specifically about a repeal of Medicaid expansion and not of the entire Affordable Care Act — although opponents in Washington don’t usually draw such distinctions.

He has cast the Medicaid expansion in Ohio as a moral choice to help the poor.

Let’s pause to let the governor make his position simple.

Let’s make our position simple.

‘He thinks we’re falling for this’? Kasich’s comms team takes swipe at AP [photo]!/brianrhester/status/524563057138499584

As Twitchy reported, Ohio Gov. John Kasich spent a good chunk of yesterday trying to dig himself out of a hole of his own creation. After the AP reported that Kasich said Obamacare won’t be repealed, he attempted to “clarify” by saying he was only referring to Medicaid expansion. Needless to say, nobody was buying what he was selling:

Clearly Kasich isn’t very good at this whole explaining-stuff thing. Fortunately, he has very competent staff to help him out:

Sorry, guys. But the AP didn’t get Kasich his reputation as a pro-Obamacare squish; he got that all on his own.

The end of the affair? Michael Moore declares ‘Obamacare is awful’!/amandacarpenter/status/418770166772944896

Uh-oh … has Michael Moore lost that lovin’ feeling?

In a recent New York Times op-ed, the hardcore lefty took Obamacare to task, bemoaning the ACA’s “rocky start,” which includes “clueless planning, a lousy website, insurance companies raising rates, and the president’s telling people they could keep their coverage when, in fact, not all could.”!/amandacarpenter/status/418770395630931968

Amen! But don’t be congratulating Moore on his bout with common sense just yet. You see, according to him, Obamacare still has a shot at redemption:

The Affordable Care Act is a pro-insurance-industry plan implemented by a president who knew in his heart that a single-payer, Medicare-for-all model was the true way to go. When right-wing critics “expose” the fact that President Obama endorsed a single-payer system before 2004, they’re actually telling the truth.!/amandacarpenter/status/418770540829360128

Single-payer will save us all!

All eyes are on Vermont’s plan for a single-payer system, starting in 2017. If it flies, it will change everything, with many states sure to follow suit by setting up their own versions. That’s why corporate money will soon flood into Vermont to crush it. The legislators who’ll go to the mat for this will need all the support they can get: If you live east of the Mississippi, look up the bus schedule to Montpelier.

So let’s get started. Obamacare can’t be fixed by its namesake. It’s up to us to make it happen.

Michael Moore, ladies and gentlemen. When it comes to outright leftist idiocy, he’s in a class by himself.!/ItsThatBriGuy/status/418771350065803264
